With the launch of its first hybrid wellness wristwatch for women, Bellabeat has taken its first step into the world of smartwatches. It’s called Time, and it combines the functions of a fitness tracker with a nice-looking analogue design.
Bellabeat was established in 2014 and has since been arguably most well-known for its line of wearable electronic gadgets that resemble jewellery. These devices include the Bellabeat Leaf, Urban, and Chakra. You can wear these as a pendant or chain on your wrist by combining them with other jewellery or articles that you already possess, or you can clip them to just about any article of clothing to add a fashionable accent to your look.
The Bellabeat Time watch is a hybrid timepiece with a quartz mechanism at its core. In addition to being able to tell you the time, it can wirelessly link to the companion smartphone app and provide you with information regarding your health. The wearable device does not monitor the user’s heart rate but does allow tracking of both activity and sleep. This covers the standard number of steps, calories burned, distance travelled, amount of time spent being active, amount of time spent sleeping, quality of sleep, and wake-up time.
The functionality that addresses stress and is tailored to the needs of women is, however, what sets itself apart from the competition. Users will receive a stress estimate depending on the choices they make in their lifestyle. It is hoped that this would assist them in taking preventative measures to lessen the impact of stress before it even begins. The wearable device will lead you through insight meditation and respiratory activities that will help you feel more relaxed.
This is, in fact, the same capability that can be found in Bellabeat’s line of smart jewellery that we’ve seen before. In addition to that, it allows users to keep track of their periods and provides a fertility calendar so that they may learn more about their bodies.
There is also some functionality that is not related to wellness at all. Bellabeat Time will notify you of incoming vibrations with both alerts and alarms.
The entire unit is water-resistant to a depth of 30 meters and is encased in stainless steel for the housing. The watch can function with just a single coin-cell battery for up to half a year.
Urska Srsen, the Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Bellabeat stated that the company has been developing stylish and functional health monitors for women ever since it was founded. “We saw a fantastic option to broaden with a wristwatch,” she said.
The company said, “We are very happy to be able to help our users on their health journey by giving them a wide range of adaptable health accessories that can be used in any setting and for any taste.”
The Time watch comes in a variety of different finishes, including gold and rose, and offers a vast selection of replaceable strap accessories. It may be purchased on the Bellabeat website for the price of $179 (which is also its retail price). It shouldn’t be long until it becomes available in other retail locations.
