Fitbit and Snapchat have announced a collaboration on a clock face with Bitmoji that changes throughout the day.
All Ionic and Versa users will have access to the capability. Depending on what the user is doing, the time of day, the weather, and how active they are, a different Bitmoji character will appear on the screen. Fitbit expects that this will increase consumers’ incentive to work harder to achieve their daily goals.
The new clock face will be powered by Snap Kit, its developer platform, with integrated APIs on both platforms. In total, there are almost 50 animations. These include wishing people when you wake up, confetti-throwing when you meet your step target, meditating when you are completely at ease, and more.
In addition to the 3,000 wristwatch apps and clock faces that Fitbit already offers, the Bitmoji clock face appears to be a popular addition. It makes monitoring your exercise a little more enjoyable.
According to Tim Rosa, Fitbit’s CMO, “Providing our users with experiences that are personalized, engaging, and pleasurable is at the foundation of what we do.”
We’re excited to work with Snap to provide our millions of users with a unique, shareable representation of their fitness and health progress through this innovative idea. The Fitbit and Snap teams worked together to create the Fitbit x Bitmoji dynamic clock face as a fresh method to encourage people to be healthier and have fun while doing it.
The dynamic clock face is currently available for download through the App Gallery for users of the Fitbit Versa line, Fitbit Ionic, and Fitbit Ionic Adidas Edition. They will be asked during installation to link their Bitmoji account with Snapchat via the Fitbit App settings page.
