Google reveals quick-glance tiles for Wear OS

Google has unveiled a new Tiles feature that resembles a widget and offers quick, swappable access to crucial data.

A lot of significant updates have been made to the five-year-old operating system recently. The most recent update includes bite-sized apps that ought to ease your life a little bit.

The function is not wholly novel. The most current iteration of Wear OS has a functionality similar to Tile, although it only had one Google Fit tile. There are currently six options, including Timer, Goals, Next event, Forecast (weather), Heart rate, and Headlines. Simply swipe to the left to flip through them. According to Google, more Tiles will be added over time.

Actually, this works well with other navigation. By swiping up, you may access notifications; downward, settings; right, Google Assistant; and left, tiles. The Tiles can be touched and moved about by users in whatever sequence they like.

Over the following month, the new functionality will be gradually implemented. According to Google, some functionalities might not be accessible on all devices.

The business will be showcasing Tiles during I/O 2019 if you’d like a sneak peek. The festival will take place at Mountain View, California’s Shoreline Amphitheater from May 7 to May 9.
