Garmin has revealed the Instinct, a GPS watch designed for the outdoors. The sturdy watch can easily handle tough settings because it was made to military-grade specifications of 810G. It has a fiber reinforced polymer case that offers 10 ATM water resistance, heat resistance, and shock resistance (down to depths of 100 meters). Garmin claims that the display is easier to read in direct sunlight and is chemically reinforced and scratch-resistant.
The Instinct has an internal 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter, and wrist-based heart rate sensor. Additional global navigation satellite systems, such as GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, are supported.
According to Dan Bartel, vice president of global consumer sales at Garmin, “We are happy to introduce Instinct to our adventure watch range, an approachable smartwatch that is robust and trustworthy.”
For people who spend a lot of time outside and need a durable device that can withstand the elements, the Instinct is ideal.
