Pre-orders are already being accepted in China for the NFC-and GPS-enabled Amazfit Bip Lite 1S, which costs $52

There is, in fact, a more affordable version of the Amazfit Bip S Lite. Today, a wearable device with NFC and built-in GPS was introduced at a price of $52 in China.

At the beginning of this year, Amazfit Bip S was shown to the public for the first time. The new and upgraded version of the well-known Bip is equipped with an appropriate water resistance rating of 5 ATM, as well as an improved GPS chip and heart rate monitor, additional fitness modes, and other features.

We were aware that a condensed version was on the way. A few months ago, the Federal Communications Commission gave its official blessing to Bip S and gave it its seal of approval (FCC). A companion article suggests a “lite” version.

The gadget that served as its predecessor was also available in a version with reduced capabilities. The one that costs more money has a GPS/GLONASS receiver, a geomagnetic sensor, and an air pressure sensor built into it. This is the primary difference between the two.

Today marks the unveiling of the most recent wearable to come from Amazfit’s monkey. The photographs clearly demonstrate that the Lite 1S has an appearance that is similar to that of its older sibling. There is the always-on display in the form of a square that measures 1.28 inches (176 by 176 pixels), a 2.5D curved screen panel that is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and a single physical button.

The Bip Lite 1S has a battery with a capacity of 200 mAH, and it can last for around one month. Despite having a bigger capacity, the Bip S has a shorter lifespan than this at 40 days. It includes built-in GPS and NFC, as well as IP68 water resistance (compared to 5 ATM). In addition to being a watch, this item also functions as a compass and barometer. Does this indicate that it is able to keep track of the number of levels it has climbed? Most likely not, given that other watches in the Bip range are unable to.

Notification support for QQ, WeChat, and SMS is among the additional features that Huami has validated as being available. In addition to that, it is possible to unlock Xiaomi mobile devices.

There does not seem to be a significant difference between the Lite 1S and its older and more powerful sibling, with the exception of shorter battery life and lower resistance to water. As a result, the reasoning behind Huami’s decision to publish this version is not entirely transparent.

Nevertheless, you can place a pre-order for the watch in China for 369 yuan, which is equivalent to around $52 USD. It won’t be long until it goes back to its usual price of 399 yuan, which is equivalent to $56. You have the option of selecting from the colours orange, white, pink, or black. On May 8th, shipping will begin just a little bit more than a week from now.

In addition to Australia, the Amazfit Bip S is now available for purchase in a number of nations located in East Asia. We are still looking forward to expanding our retail presence in overseas markets. We can only hope that the lite version will not keep us waiting for quite as long.
