Scosche announces the new and enhanced Rhythm+ 2.0 at CES 2021

The Scosche Rhythm+ 2.0 heart-rate armband is the first wearable gadget to launch at CES 2021. Longer battery life and sensor modifications are among the enhancements.

Scosche releases a new heart rate monitor every few years, according to their schedule. Rhythm+ was released in 2014, which seems like a long time ago. The device’s charm is that it can be worn in a variety of ways. The upper forearm, biceps, and triceps are all included.

An excellent alternative to the typical chest strap is an optical heart rate monitor. It’s not as difficult to put on, and the accuracy is comparable.

In 2018, Rhythm+ was followed by Rhythm24. We gave it an exceptional 8.5 rating when we reviewed it at the time. A heart rate monitor that is simple to use and works well.

It has a 24-hour battery life, a sports mode, HRV data, cadence statistics, on-board memory, and a 5-color LED indicator, all of which are improvements over the original device.

What’s new and different about Rhythm 2.0+?

However, Rhythm+ 2.0 lacks most of these enhanced capabilities. That is, aside from the battery life.

Because the device is an updated version of the original Rhythm+, this is the case. As a result, Rhythm 24 has the highest specifications of the three. It is also the most expensive choice, costing $99 to purchase.

Scosche will phase out the original gadget with the launch of Rhythm+ 2.0. It makes no sense to keep it.

The battery life has been increased from the original’s 8 hours to 24 hours. The standard sensor upgrades that come with each subsequent iteration are also present. The only other difference is that generation 2 has a detachable clasp method instead of Velcro on the original.

Aside from that, the IP68 water resistance remains. Scosche could have enhanced the heart rate strap to make it completely waterproof. Other firms, like Polar, have done similar things with their products. For instance, the OH1 is waterproof to 30 meters, making it appropriate for swimming.

Other notable features are dual ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart connectivity. A bespoke Valencell PerformTek sensor with two green and one yellow LED serves as the brain of the device.

Rhythm+2.0 is currently being polished by Scosche. The $79.99 heart rate monitor is planned to be available in a variety of colors starting in spring 2021.
