unshift is a brand-new type of clothing. It protects UV rays, is noticeably cooler, and utilizes sunlight to generate beneficial red and near-infrared light for the body.
We are all aware of the positive effects of sunlight. Because it helps our bodies produce vitamin D, moderate sun exposure is essential. This is essential for healthy bone growth and development. UV radiation, on the other hand, is harmful in excess sunlight. This accelerates the aging process of our skin and is known to result in basal and squamous cell skin cancers. What if, though, you could combine the greatest aspects of both?
In order to achieve this, a North Carolina-based business called Lumiton has created a selection of casual sports T-shirts. Their signature party trick is the use of unique yarns that have been laser-infused, known as SunShift. Because of this, the shirts can absorb sunshine, recharge, and emit beneficial red and near-infrared light.

For those who are unaware, scientific studies have demonstrated that red and near-infrared light rejuvenate cells. You’ll experience better skin, more collagen, less pain and inflammation, better athletic performance, and other benefits as a result. Simply said, light makes body cells function better.
The shirt also offers UV radiation protection, which is a bonus. Because the laser technology cleverly recycles UV into beneficial light, the SunShift has a UPF rating of 50+. Because the laser technology prevents solar radiation from accumulating in the fabric, the clothing also has a cooling effect.
Undoubtedly, this Kickstarter project is intriguing. It’s fair to argue that smart clothing hasn’t really taken off. But there’s no doubt that having smart clothing in your closet will become the norm in the not-too-distant future.
