The Montblanc Summit 2 Will Be the Very First Smart Wearable to Include Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 3100

Qualcomm made the announcement about the Snapdragon Wear 3100 CPU at an event that took place yesterday in San Francisco. The chipset includes low-power modes that will allow your device to continue functioning for extended periods, athletic watch-focused adjustments, and better always-on display faces. Later on in the year 2018, the chipset will begin to make an appearance in a variety of WearOS gadgets, the first of which will be the Montblanc Summit 2 smartwatch.

Version 2 of the Montblanc Summit, which was released in September of 2017, is scheduled to become available in October. However, you should begin saving your money as soon as possible because the equipment of the first generation retails for about a thousand dollars. This is a luxury timepiece, so only people with deep pockets should consider purchasing it.

There is not a lot of information available on the real technological specifications, and Montblanc has not disclosed any information at this point. Nicolas Naretski, the CEO of the firm, stated that it would be “designed for travel, exercise, or exploration,” but he did not clarify further.

The watch will undoubtedly come equipped with all of the bells and whistles that are made available by Google’s Wear OS 2.0 software platform. This much is certain. The battery life of wearable devices should also get a lot better as a result of the latest Snapdragon Wear 3100 technology.

Qualcomm disclosed some time ago that smartphones equipped with the new chip may anticipate anywhere from a four to a twelve-hour increase in the amount of additional battery life (depending on specs). This is because the smartwatch utilizes a brand-new ultra-low power co-processor that takes care of the majority of the work while the device is not being used. On a full charge, the original Summit can operate for around 24 hours.

The older model of the wristwatch does not have GPS, water resistance, or NFC connectivity, despite the fact that it comes with a premium price tag. We can only hope that Summit 2 will fix most of these issues.
