The Q Control is Fossil's first Android Wear smartwatch designed for an active lifestyle

A further offering originating from the Fossil stable has been brought to fruition. This is the first attempt by the business at developing a sporty Android Wear smartwatch, and it is known as the Q Control.

If you thought Fossil was going to scale back its goals in the wearable technology space, you should think again. However, this time around, the firm that currently offers customers a wide variety of connected watches to choose from has introduced something new.

The Q Control has a circular case that is 45 millimeters in diameter and a thickness of 14 millimeters. It has a similar appearance to the Misfit Vapor. This is a sleek and unobtrusive piece of gear that manages to exude an air of sportiness despite being marketed toward people who enjoy spending time outside.

In terms of its hardware, the Q Control comes equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, and ambient light sensor. It also has an altimeter. Everything is protected by a casing that is watertight to a depth of fifty meters.

The watch runs on the most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 CPU, has 4GB of internal storage alongside it, and has a battery that can reportedly run on a single charge for an entire day. You will also receive GPS readings, but these will not come from an internal GPS sensor. Connected GPS is Q Control’s euphemism for connecting to your smartphone in order to obtain readings. Connected GPS is a feature offered by Q Control.

In addition to the touch screen, there is a single button located on the right side of the device that can be used for navigation. A touch-sensitive bezel that allows you to scroll through the panels is another unique feature that can be found on this device. This utilization of the bezel is extremely reminiscent of a feature that was present on the Misfit Vapor and the Garmin Vivoactive 3 that we have seen.

On and, you can currently purchase the watch in only one color combination: black with gunmetal accents. It shouldn’t be long until there is a wider retail availability and other color selections.
