The Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro activity trackers from Samsung will soon receive an updated version of their respective software. The upgrade, in conjunction with the typically occurring bug fixes, makes it very easy to keep things in check.
A new method of presenting information is now available on the Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro. The Workout widget offers three different bits of information and is easier to understand than other widgets. This can be customized to show a variety of data, including distance covered, caloric expenditure, time of activity, pulse rate, and more, varying based on the type of workout being performed.
In addition, the Health Summary widget has been updated so that it now displays an overall summary of the activity for that particular day. With the addition of a widget that lets you save your favourite workouts as presets, you now have a way to get started with your activity.
The Weight Management and Fitness Program aspects of the activity bands are also being updated, making this another significant change. You now have the ability to connect this to the Samsung Health application on your mobile phone, making it much simpler for you to keep track of the calories you consume. Linking your fitness tracker to the television, as part of the new Fitness Regime, will finally get you access to video material.
The firmware update can be downloaded for free using the app that already comes on Samsung Gear phones.
